Robert Matsuoka

President / CEO

Job Experience

Rob is the President of Wellsite Environmental Inc. and has held this position since 2005. Rob has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas sector and has worked in numerous roles within Wellsite; as well Rob has many years of management experience dealing in areas of operations, human resource management and accounting. As President of Wellsite Rob is responsible for the financial and strategic direction of the company as well as it future growth in the oil and gas service sector.

Rob has built Wellsite Environmental Inc. on the belief that top level customer service and strong technical field expertise will help it to become the industry leader in environmental and drilling waste services.  He surrounds himself with top level management and field staff to ensure the clients are taken care of within the regulations that govern these services.

Rob is involved in multiple boards as well as spending his free time supporting his two children in their educational and sporting endeavors. 

Education

Rob obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University.

Kingsley Knust

V.P. Operations

Job Experience

With over 23 years of environmental experience in the oil and gas industry, Kingsley Knust has built his career specializing in drilling waste management across western Canada. His early work in forestry, fisheries, and wildlife laid the foundation for a deep understanding of environmental stewardship, which he has carried into the oil and gas sector.

As a consultant, Kingsley worked extensively with environmental service providers, ensuring full regulatory compliance and optimizing drilling waste disposal practices. His technical expertise and hands-on experience allow him to provide cost-effective, efficient solutions while maintaining the highest level of customer service.

Kingsley firmly believes that a service company is only as strong as its field personnel. That’s why he has assembled a team of experienced, knowledgeable senior field technicians, backed by a dedicated office staff. With this strong foundation, Wellsite Environmental delivers reliable, compliant, and efficient solutions tailored to clients' needs.

Education

Kingsley attained his diploma in Renewable Resource Management, Post Diploma Certificate in Environmental Science (Fish and Wildlife) and Bachelor of Applied Conservation Enforcement at Lethbridge College.

Jeff Rasmussen

Director of Environmental Services

Job Experience

Jeff’s main  role is to manage, coordinate and oversee all of the Pre-Disturbance and Reclamation Environmental Services at Wellsite Environmental Inc.  Our Pre-Disturbance Assessments include but are not limited to Standard Pre-Disturbance Assessment (PDA), Detailed Environmental Overview (EO), wetland assessments, wildlife surveys, migratory bird nest sweeps and regulatory applications (i.e., Enhanced Approval Procedure (EAP), Environmental Field Review (EFR), Special Areas Environmental Reviews (ER) and Water Act and Code of Practice Applications).  Jeff also oversees all of our reclamation services including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA’s), Detailed Site Assessments (DSA’s) and Wellsite Reclamation Certificate Applications (WRCA’s).

Jeff has over 25 years experience in the oil and gas and environmental sectors. He has experience as a Fisheries Biologist, Wildlife Biologist, Vegetation Management Operator and Oil and Gas Operator prior to his career in the environmental consulting industry where he has many years experience managing many large oil and gas drilling projects and pipeline projects.  His range of experience in the consulting sector ranges from completion of a full range of biophysical assessments, regulatory applications, environmental inspection, drilling waste management and project planning.  In addition to the directly related work experience Jeff also have work experience working on drilling rigs, in the construction and agriculture industries which helps to integrate his professional skills and experience into the projects we manage.

Education

Jeff hold’s a degree in Environmental Science, diploma in Renewable Resource Management and a Fish and Wildlife Technology Certificate in addition to current safety training courses.
